The Details
When the Santa Fe Railway built Flagstaff's depot in 1926, it skipped its usual Southwest playbook and went Tudor Revival instead, deciding a mountain town deserved a mountain town look. A century later the building is still on the job as a working Amtrak stop and the city's visitor center, with freight trains rolling past like clockwork. Most towns retire their landmarks. Flagstaff keeps them on the payroll.
Hand drawn by a local artist for Keep Flagstaff Freaky: eight Flagstaff landmarks, the same buildings the Freaky Foot Tours ghost tours walk past after dark. Hear the town's history at street level, then take the depot home.
