Howl O Ween
This one was born at Flagstaff's first pet parade, which we organized ourselves: more than 100 costumed pets marching through town, $777 raised for High Country Humane, and two dogs adopted on the spot. Our shop dog Shimmer entered, competed with dignity, and lost Best Costume to a corgi in a hot dog suit. The appeal is ongoing.
The design is Halloween meets the high desert, spooky season the way a mountain town does it. But the values run year-round: a portion of every sale goes to High Country Humane Animal Shelter in Flagstaff, whatever the month.
The parade comes back every year, and so does the good it does. Shimmer will be entering again. We like her odds.
